At Puppy Manners, we’ve always seen training equipment the same way—as “management tools” while we train our puppies. There is no magic solution here that will prevent your dog from pulling, jumping, or running away, but the right equipment can help manage behavior while you continue training your dog. Think of these things as “training wheels” on a toddler bike—we use them while our kids are learning to balance themselves. At the same time, we continue teaching them confidence and to not fall, so eventually, we can take the training wheels off! The “right” equipment depends on the dog and most of all, it depends on you. Enroll in one of our classes and we can show you how to properly use the equipment, ensuring you are being fair and appropriate with your pup and using positive reinforcement when they get it right.
